Isabel Wherritt

About Isabel

Isabel was educated at Nunthorpe Academy in Middlesbrough, before going on to study her A-Levels at Nunthorpe 6th Form. During her time in 6th Form, volunteering as a student mentor and maths tutor with younger students ignited her passion for helping others; as she saw how much the students benefited from the one to one support.

Similarly, as a therapeutic healthcare volunteer in her local hospital, she noticed the positive effect of spending time with patients on a personal level. Isabel’s interests in mental health, and in the wellbeing of others, has led her to study a degree in psychology, at Newcastle University. Her studies to date have given her an in depth understanding, from a scientific and clinical point of view, of the positive impact on both society as a whole and on the individual of raising self-belief.

Isabel is excited to be involved with this charity which promotes raising self-belief in young people and learning from them as well as being a role model for them. This placement year at Building Self-Belief CIO will provide an ideal opportunity for her to broaden her skill set and experience within the charity sector and give her some excellent experiences in preparation for her future career in psychological healthcare.
