Congratulations Hugo - GNR 2024!
Once again our fabulous Chair, Dr Hugo Minney has completed the Great North Run on our behalf. The Great North Run is a spectacular event for the whole region and it is so brilliant to see so many people running on behalf of so many charities.
We are always grateful for the time and effort Hugo repeatedly puts in to such an event. His barefoot running is a great conversation starter!

Kye's Kick Off - Charity Football Match In Memory of Kye Cunnington
Kye's Kick Off was a charity football match on Tuesday 29th April at South Shields FC. The match was between Boldon School's Yr 9 VS Yr 11, in memory of much loved student, Kye Cunnington. The total amount raised for Teenage Cancer Trust was just over £4000!
Stargate Pit Disaster, Crookhill Primary School / June 2nd, 2026
Gateshead schoolchildren honour victims of historic Stargate Pit Disaster
Crookhill Primary School have been working with Building Self Belief on a year 5 and 6 project about the pit disaster as well as learning about life in the Stargate and Crookhill area 200 years ago and about the changes that have taken place in the area since then.

Delves Lane Primary School Poetry Anthology
The children at Delves Lane Primary School learnt about the history of the Consett Steelworks and developed their understanding of the impact that the steelworks closure had, and continues to have, on the community. They created paintings, poems and decorated a quilt. Each group chose a photo relating to the Consett Steelworks, and wrote their own poems using poetic techniques. We hope you enjoy them!
