"Celebrating Stanley" Poem - South Stanley Junior School

This poem was created by Livy, Layla, Liam and Harry, Year 6 pupils from South Stanley Junior School as part of our 'Celebrating Stanley' project. They were inspired by the importance of coming together to celebrate the town, honour past generations, and remember the people who helped shape its history. Ultimately this poem encourages unity, celebration, and pride in Stanley as a place to belong.

With the prospect of social isolation, the traditional methods of teaching are no longer applicable. A new way of long distance learning needs to be swiftly incorporated to ensure all students get the very best support at this crucial time. The most obvious solution is educational technology – EdTech.

The Learning for Life Sensory Room Project | Building Self-Belief

Young people from Consett Academy and Learning for Life joined forces to design and equip and new sensory space. They challenged youth loneliness, broke down social barriers, built lasting friendships and engaged with local businesses. It was a fabulous project and we all loved every minute of it. The Programme was funded by the Derwent Valley AAP and supported by local businesses.
